Our Practice

David Fleischmann specialises in paediatric optometry, medical eye conditions, eye muscle problems, reading difficulties, and dyslexia. He holds memberships with the Society for Coloured Lens Prescribers (SCLP) and the International Institute of Colorimetry (FIIoC), and has served as a visiting specialist at the Institute of Optometry. He holds multiple clinical certifications from City University, including therapeutics, glaucoma, paediatric optometry, and binocular vision. He was among the first to receive the Professional Certificate in Glaucoma (ProfCertGlauc), and holds the College’s Diploma in Orthoptics (DipOrth) and Independent Prescribing in Ocular Therapeutics (DipTP). He also trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital. David was a Specialist Optometrist at Central Middlesex hospital, London, before leaving to helm the practice here. .

Martin founded the practice in the 1980s with the ambition of bringing hospital level knowledge and care into the community and making it accessible to all. Prior to founding the practice Martin was Senior Optometrist at Moorfields for over a decade. Martin runs clinics on Fridays and Saturdays ensuring continuity for his patients. Martin has a special interest in both the management of Keratoconus using specialist lenses and Macula Degeneration. When he's not at the practice Martin enjoys photography, gardening, supporting Spurs and playing with his beloved MG sports car!

Suzi brings over two decades of clinical experience and knowledge to the team having worked across many disciplines in the industry. She has a specialist industry in macula degeneration and diabetic eye disease and holds a postgraduate certificate in this.

Sara started at the practice during the COVID-19 pandemic and has proven herself to be impossible to fluster. Thankfully she has stuck it out with us and is enjoying the clinical work post-Covid. She is currently at the clinic on Wednesday mornings.

Nikki is a highly experienced and qualified dispensing optician with over 40 years in the optical profession. She has worked alongside David for the past 17 years, having first guided him during his postgraduate training in dispensing. Known for her warm smile and extensive knowledge, Nikki is a trusted presence in the practice, offering expert advice and care to every patient she helps.

Lisa is a talented dispensing optician with nearly a decade of experience. She actually attended university at the same time as David—though their paths didn’t cross until years later! Lisa is known for her kind-hearted nature, her skill in finding the perfect frames for young and old alike, and her creative flair. She’s also the mastermind behind our beautiful front-of-house displays, bringing warmth and personality to the practice inside and out.

Calie is the welcoming face at our reception desk, where she efficiently books appointments, handles patient enquiries, and keeps the administrative side of the practice running smoothly. With over 20 years of experience in the optical industry and a valued member of our team since 2019, Calie brings a wealth of knowledge and a calm, friendly presence that helps ensure every patient’s visit is a positive one.

Megan is one of the friendly voices and faces you'll meet at our front desk. She joined the team in 2025, bringing with her a strong background in retail customer service. Although new to the world of optics, Megan has quickly adapted to the role and embraced the challenges with enthusiasm and professionalism. Her approachable nature and commitment to helping patients make her a fantastic addition to the team.
